Vista Ultimate Really WorksSep 12, 2009 I purchased Vista Ultimate when the Home Premium (OEM)which came with my Gateway computer became corrupted. I paid much less than the suggested price and will get the upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate for free (9.99 S&H) when it is released. No Problems and am very satisfied.
kind of buggySep 10, 2009 I can't wait for Windows 7 to come out. I installed Vista over Windows XP and have had no end of problems with my computer. Sound card won't work, browser won't print, etc. etc. It's probably my fault for not doing a better compatibility check, but it's still annoying.

Gulp, I've made the leapAug 17, 2009 Ok, so maybe I blew my fear of Vista a little out of proportion. I don't like change, ok? But a few months ago when I rebuilt my desktop PC, I decided to bite the bullet and install this copy of Vista Ultimate I've had sitting around for months. I'd been using a beta of Windows 7 before the untimely death of my desktop, so I figured the switch shouldn't be TOO scary. It wasn't. Vista installed SO much quicker and easier than XP ever has for me (I was up and running in about an hour from beginning the install). It took a little getting used to, as I've been an XP user since it's introduction, but I found Vista to be mostly logical. I did a lot of Googling the first few days while I found my way around, but nothing crippling.
I like the sidebar, and find the search feature much more efficient than XP. Programs load faster, and in general my experience has been good. I still object to some of Microsoft's licensing restrictions on general principle, but I doubt that's going to change in any future OS releases so I may as well accept it.
It WorksAug 11, 2009 Heard a lot of negitive things about Vista. I built a new computer and installed Vista Ultimate. I like it better than XP.
Pure Crap - Far More Sluggish Than Win XP or Mac OS 10.5Aug 10, 2009 Have been running this on a fast machine since Feb 2007 and it is pure crap. The UAC feature really makes the machine sluggish when trying to load new software. On some occasions it takes UAC as long as 4 minutes to come up with a Window for you to allow an install. The hard disk grinds constantly. The boot up takes 4-5 times as long as Mac OS 10.5.8. Just an absolute disgrace.
